Bar Nives
Bar Nives was BC materials first big scale design & prefab rammed earth bar project. The U-shape counter consists of cream rammed earth and plastered with our léém cream clay plaster.
With rounded edges and intricate height differences, the bar required a complex and unique formwork structure. The natural textures of the bar are complimented with a warm oak-wood base frame. By grinding and polishing the top-surface of the bar, hand-picked stones are revealed for a terrazzo-like finish, and is protected with a carnauba wax. Together with the client and employees of Nives, the project was built in a mini workshop over three days.
